Coretta Scott King once said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” As an integral part of the New Jersey business community, we believe in taking action for results. Corporate responsibility is more than just a topic of discussion; it’s a mission for Sun M&A. With this in mind, we regularly support multiple charitable organizations. The groups we work with help address vulnerable populations, such as children and seniors, and help those with health challenges. Lastly, we support small business owners and entrepreneurs with starting or growing a business.
We choose local partners and connect with those in our backyard to make the most significant impact. We only select organizations whose missions resonate with us and who help a diverse client base. Currently, we are proud to work with the below organizations.
Push to Walk – Gaining Success Despite Mobility Challenges
Individuals with spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and other mobility challenges benefit from specialized workout programs to help improve their movement. Push to Walk, a 501(c)3 organization founded by mother and son Cynthia and Darren Templeton, helps meet the unique needs of New Jersey residents who confront these limitations. With Push to Walk, it’s more than just giving clients the tools to work. It’s about increasing the quality of their lives. Sun M&A was proud to support Push to Walk’s mission, most recently as a sponsor for their 15th Anniversary Gala.
Grand St. Settlement – Empowering Individuals and Families
New York’s children and seniors have a champion in Grand St. Settlement. The non-profit social organization consistently provides these vulnerable populations with resources, education, and support. Families receive insurance, financial planning, employment, and education assistance for a better future together. Whether it’s with early childhood classes, summer camps, or senior outreach, Grand St. Settlement works tirelessly to meet the needs of and advocate for over 7,500 clients.
Passaic County CASA – Ensuring Children’s Welfare
A CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps protect abused and neglected children by speaking on their behalf in court, school, and in the community. Their focus is on the best interest of the child’s mental, physical, and emotional health. Each CASA is a volunteer who attends 36 hours of training for the skills to build a network of support for their client.
Through advocacy and listening, CASAs help make a difference in their clients’ lives.
For the 2022-2023 year, Passaic County CASA closed 92 cases this past year, with 26 children adopted by loving parents. A total of 148 active volunteers served 292 children in the system, while fundraising drives for gifts, backpacks, and school supplies helped ensure no foster child or CASA client went without needed items.
SCORE Northeast New Jersey – Helping Entrepreneurs Flourish
