Stephen is a Certified Business Intermediary and Certified Valuation Analyst bringing over 30 years of M&A and Valuation expertise to the helm of Sun Mergers & Acquisitions, LLC and Sun Business Valuations, LLC, NJ based firms specializing in managing the sale, merger and valuation of privately held, mid-market companies. In 1985, he was an original member of a New Jersey-based acquisitions firm and subsequently founded Sun to more narrowly focus on the exit strategy goals and valuation of family and entrepreneurially owned middle-market clients. Since then, Sun has emerged as one of the leading players in its field.

Stephen has orchestrated the sale more than 250 mid-market companies in a wide range of industries and has provided business valuation consulting to over 1,000 clients nationwide during his long tenure in this industry. In addition to his work as a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Certified Business Intermediary, Stephen is a frequent lecturer and writer on M&A and business valuation issues and serves regularly as an expert witness in cases involving business valuation disputes.

Bob has over 30 years of experience dealing with middle-market companies. He was a Senior Vice President & Regional Manager at Barclays Bank, with responsibility for middle-market corporate and real estate lending activities in New Jersey and the greater New York area. For the past 15 years, he has utilized this past experience working with middle market M&A firms, identifying and successfully bringing to market numerous transactions in a variety of industries. In addition to his broad-based M&A advisor background, Bob’s experience in banking, real estate and financing brings an added dimension to the Sun M&A team.


Gary Leonardi

Gary joined Sun M&A in 2011 and brought with him a wealth of knowledge and extensive skill set crucial to the nature of the business sale process. He spent over 20 years at Allstate Insurance and Allied Stores Corporations, in the areas of Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions. As an executive at Allied Stores Corporations, Gary contributed to the coordination, growth and expansion of approximately 100 acquisitions in a 10-year period. Additionally, Gary effectively executed several personal merger and acquisition deals to grow and later sell several small/mid-market insurance entities. Since joining Sun M&A, Gary has managed and/or participated in varied M&A transactions across a wide spectrum of industries. In addition, he has been providing consulting and training seminars to the insurance business sector for more than ten years.

Ed entered the Business Brokerage/ Mergers & Acquisitions Industry in 2015 after owning and operating several companies during his extensive career.  These included a financial planning business, a real estate development company, and a bottled water/coffee distribution business.  His background and insight as a business owner and experience selling his own company led to his desire to help other privately held business owners achieve their exit strategy goals.  Ed has personally managed the sale of transactions across a wide spectrum of industries since entering the M&A industry.


Randi Nelkin Goldberg

Randi joined Sun Mergers & Acquisitions in 2014. Previously, she spent nineteen years working for Goldman Sachs and Company in New York, N.Y. as a Vice President. She held key Financial, Strategic Planning and Project Management roles for senior management across five different divisions during her tenure. Her expertise was in analyzing the financial dynamics of business lines and implementing changes to improve profitability and streamline operations. Randi brings this expertise to Sun and oversees our Operations, Marketing, and Quality Control.

Ibrahim Koroma

Ibrahim is a Senior M&A Associate at Sun Mergers & Acquisitions. He completed his studies at the Rutgers Business School and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance. Following graduation, Ibrahim worked as a Business Banker at PNC Bank where his primary responsibilities included small business and commercial real estate lending activities. Ibrahim brings his experience working with small business owners across a wide spectrum of industries and extensive knowledge of financial statement analysis to the Sun M&A team.


Thomas F. Theurkauf, CVA

Thomas is a Senior Valuation Associate at Sun Mergers & Acquisitions/Sun Business Valuations. He completed his studies at St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and is a Certified Valuation Analyst. Thomas has extensive knowledge of business valuation principles and has completed over 150 valuation engagements in a wide range of industries and markets. Tom has performed valuations for many different purposes including mergers & acquisitions, succession planning, buy-sell agreements, marital dissolutions, partnership disputes, partnership acquisitions, and estate and gift tax purposes.


Tonya Graham

Tonya joined Sun Mergers & Acquisitions/Sun Business Valuations as an Operations Administrator in 2019.  She completed her studies at Berkeley College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Prior to joining the Sun team, Tonya worked in several industries in a variety of office manager and operational functions.  She brings this experience to Sun and oversees many of the day to day Operations of the office.


Bob Chanda

Bob brings over 25 years of Sales, Sales Management and Business Development experience to Sun. As the owner of Robert Chanda Business Development, LLC for 15 years, Bob developed, designed and executed regional and national business development campaigns for the small and middle markets serving IT Infrastructure, Software Development, Mechanical & Civil Engineering, Pharma, Document Management, Brand Development and Communications, Commercial Insurance, Research & Development, Digital Media and Non-Profit Capital Development. In addition to his wide range of experience within the Sales and Marketing sectors, Bob’s prior experience as a Management Consultant with Alexander Proudfoot Company provides a solid platform for a thorough understanding of business processes, challenges and solutions across industry lines.
